Watch the Skies was the game that introduced megagames to America a little more than 10 years ago when Shut Up and Sit Down made a youtube video about their experience. I had already been looking for something like this after watching a Ted Talk about John Hunter’s world peace game.
A student came to me with this video knowing I was doing this research, and we immediately downloaded, printed, and played the game with all of the game design students. The game wasn’t perfect for high school students, so we decided to make our own which lead to ALLIANCE The Ultimate World Leader Political Science Megagame.
I just recently moved back to Texas after living abroad and in California for 7 years. I’ve been wanting to join up with the megagame group in Austin for years now. We have two or three players driving down from Houston and would love to have more!
