Students form strong bonds of Friendship through Online Art Club

Sakura loves Japanese manga from the 80s. Isabella "Iz" loves old American cartoony art styles and is an expert on animation history. Jake loves concept art and is developing his skills in programming, playing the guitar, and entrepreneurship.

During the 3 weeks game development challenge Sakura, Iz, & Jake formed a team and created their own original game called Shinigami Advocate. Sakura drew the backgrounds, Isabella "Iz" designed the characters, Jake did the programming, and together they came up with all of the ideas.

They continually encourage each other through our private online forum, and often call each other just before online art club meetings.

I believe these friendships they have built through art club will last long after our time together, and I look forward to hearing about their future successes as professional artists.

Project Based Learning

Students don't learn when teachers teach. Students learn best when students do. So we team them up, give them the tools, and allow them to figure it out together.

Live Online classes - all the student needs is a PC/Mac laptop and an internet connection
Students build personal connections with peers by forming small teams
Create Portfolio Art Pieces: Students produce comics and/or playable game prototypes based on their own original characters, art, and story.

I worked professionally at various studios doing animation, character design, storyboarding, game art illustration, graphic and web design.
